Who knew? A chance meeting in a high school music class brought trumpeter Sheila Carabine and the bass clarinet playing Amanda Walther together. Though vastly different in personality and interests, the two became best friends and formed the group DALA. Universal Music Canada signed the duo to a major label deal in 2005 with their debut Angels and Thieves as well as the subsequent Who Do You Think You Are nabbing four Canadian Folk Music Award nominations. Dala's engaging stage presence has made them touring favorites. This June, their unique brand of acoustic pop is on display on their fourth album, Everyone Is Someone with the first single Levi Blues getting increased airplay.
